It’s been a cutting kind of day. (Well, aside from getting a beef stew into the crockpot, making muffins for breakfast, and getting the little H to his swimming lesson and 18month doctor’s appointment.)
I’ve been prepping fabric for a new handbag. It’s an Amy Butler design that was featured a couple of years ago in one of my quilting magazines and I’ve been dying to try it ever since.
To make things even better, I am using some fabric I got from my excellent sister-in-law, Ellie. She actually designed this fabric and it is perfect for a small clutch. Here are some photos of the fabric cut out into the appropriate shapes.
The lining is a silver charmeuse fabric. Charmeuse is really sumptuous to the touch and has a great sheen. I’m pretty excited about this project.
And I got my sewing machine back! Woooot! I’m planning on pinning and sewing tonight while watching NCIS. (I’m a multitasker.) And the plan for tomorrow is to throw myself back into the fray of quilting.
