Dearest readers. Thank you for being on this college decision journey with us. At various times we’ve been impatient, hopeful, devastated, proud, frustrated, joyous, and impatient.
Child #1 has finally decided which college he’ll be attending!
He’ll be only 30 minutes away from us, but we don’t anticipate we’ll see him often. He’ll be experiencing DC in an entirely new way, and possibly going overseas his second semester. We’re looking forward to hearing about all his adventures.
When I asked Child #2 (almost 15yo) his thoughts on his older brother going to college close by, but yet not close by, his response was, “Is he taking the Honda Civic with him? Because if he does, what am I going to learn driving with.”
Ah, Brotherly love.
I’ve also informed Child #2 he will have our sole and undivided focus when Child #1 leaves. His response: “Dear God.”
Which is pretty much the correct response.
So, I think both my children would welcome your good wishes for their immediate futures! Yay!
